PRANAYAMA -- CAPT AJIT VADAKAYIL

PRANAYAMA AND OXYGENATION -- AJIT VADAKAYIL

Pranayama— where you exhale twice as long as inhale— IS MORE ABOUT DUMPING OLD EXPERIENCES, RATHER THAN MERE OXYGENATION OF BLOOD.

It is always starts with the left nostril for right handers – for left handers it is vice versa ( no book on pranayama talks about this ) .. Left handed people have their sub-conscious in the left lobe of the brain.

Breathe in the new , breathe out the old. Pranayama—inhale and exhale with awareness— long exhales with the sound of mmmm. Humming boosts level of nitric oxide—this in turn ups the oxygen intake by 98%, the biggest secret . Ordinary breath is a mere 4%.

It is amazing Nitric oxide was discovered by Indian yogis 11000 years ago.  For re-inventing this a Nobel prize was given 2 decades ago.

Nitric oxide is necessary for-
1. Destruction of viruses, parasitic organisms, and malignant cells in the airways and lungs by inactivating their respiratory chain enzymes.
2. Regulation of binding - release of O2 to hemoglobin.
3. Vasodilation of arteries and arterioles (regulation of blood flow or perfusion of tissues).
4. Inhibitory effects of inflammation in blood vessels.
5. Hormonal effects. Nitric oxide influences secretion of hormones from several glands (adrenaline, pancreatic enzymes, and gonadotropin-releasing hormone)
6. Neurotransmission. Memory, sleeping, learning, feeling pain, and many other processes are possible only with NO present (for transmission of neuronal signals).
Obviously, during mouth breathing it is not possible to utilize one's own nitric oxide which is produced in the sinuses. The mouth, was created by Nature for eating, drinking, and speaking. At all other times, your trap should be shut.

When there is lack of oxygen in your blood , you living to a small percentage of your potential.

Endurance exercise can increase oxygen utilization from 10 to 20 times over the resting state. This greatly also  increases the generation of free radicals, which can cause cancer.

Metabolism, or, more accurately the metabolic rate of the cells, sets the demand for oxygen. At rest, a human consumes about 250 millilitres of oxygen each minute. With exercise this rate can be increased more than 10-fold in a normal healthy individual, but a highly trained athlete may achieve a more than 20-fold increase..

Muscle can do more work, but beyond the aerobic scope they must revert to anaerobic metabolism, which results in waste products, mainly lactic acid.

Here is a simple test—fill up a bathtub with slightly hot water— take a deep breath— and lie down with your head under water — you will be up in less than 30 seconds—

Try this and get convinced -- It is about the capacity red cells in your blood to absorbing more oxygen from the air breathed into the lungs

David Blain held his breath for 17 minutes and 4 seconds in a Oprah Winfey’s show. What nobody advertised was that Blaine was allowed to inhale pure oxygen for up to 30 minutes, although he inhaled for only 23 minutes. A Guinness World Records judge was on hand to certify his feat— but not the oxygen inhalation. And just before this he lived inside a glass house filled with ice cold water for many days — like our Himalayan rishis — to put his body into the hibernatory mode. Hibernation basically reduces the amount of oxygen the cells need to survive – to buy time to survive during extremely cold weather , lack of food etc.

The ability of the eye to dark-adapt (, increase its sensitivity at low light levels) decreases with age, but part of that decrease can be restored by breathing pure oxygen. Various mental processes in old people are also found to be improved by breathing oxygen. Any slowed induction of protein synthesis, as from lower oxygen intake, with age is a factor in the deficits of learning and memory of old people.

70% of toxins in your body are released by exhalation— rest by sweat, defecation and urine— surprised?

Oxygen drives the basic metabolic processes that permit growth and constant body temperature. The main purpose of respiration is to provide oxygen to the cells at a rate adequate to satisfy their metabolic needs. This involves transport of oxygen from the lung to the tissues by means of the circulation of blood. The precise object of respiration therefore is the supply of oxygen to the mitochondria.

Ganges' self-purifying quality leads to oxygen levels 25 times higher than any other river in the world. Ganga, show that it is able to reduce BOD (biochemical oxygen demand) levels much faster than in other rivers. Ganges cleans up suspended wastes twenty times faster than other rivers on the planet.

Ageing results from the accumulation of toxic reactions. A FREE RADICAL is a oxygen molecule that has an electron missing. ( like hydrogen peroxide ) Toxic damage to cells and tissues is the consequence of free radicals that are formed when oxygen is metabolized. Free radicals strip an electron from any available nearby source like DNA molecules or proteins.

Free Radical caused diseases are :--
Cancer
Heart attack
Stroke
Arthritis
Inflammatory bowel disease
Alzheimer's disease
Wrinkling
Graying
Stiff joints

The power of breathing lies in its relationship with your energy source. The mind is intimately connected to your breathing. Deep breathing triggers the lymph, your body’s sewage system which will give your cells more efficiency. It keeps the blood fully oxygenated. Breathe in the ration 1/4/2.

The physical aspect of lack of oxygen in the body is not as important as the mental and spiritual aspect.

Lack of oxygen always slows your reaction time. The more oxygen our brains receive the better they function. Glial cells are mediators between the neurons and blood vessels of the brain. Oxygenating the brain can slow down constant die off of brain cells, and can activate areas of the brain which usually idle from lack of blood.

The cells you use the least are the first to die off. 35000 brain cells die every day—more when there is lack of blood. But don’t worry, you have a stock of 100 billion brain cells.

Arterial blood is slightly more acidic in pH value ( 0.05 ) than the venous blood. Blood is an electrolyte. Blood is a carrier for oxygen and nutrients to the cells, but more fundamentally it is a carrier of electrical current. The movement of blood produces EM waves through changes in the electrical charge (voltage) and current (amperage) of the fluid.

Because oxygen is vital to life, the body and brain are extremely sensitive to even very small reductions . This is why exercise must be done at least ONE hour after a meal or oxygen required for digestion is used by muscles leading to indigestion and cramps.

Stress, fear and anxiety causes muscles to contract and blood vessels to constrict. When blood cannot be transported freely through the body to provide oxygen, and antibodies and to carry away and dispose toxic wastes, illness sets in.

Mind is non material , but it works in partnership with communicator molecules. With every thought mind moves atoms of hydrogen, carbon , oxygen and other particles in the brain .

Knowing the connection between breath and consciousness, the ancient yogis devised PRANAYAMA to stabilise energy and consciousness.

All that vibrates in this universe is the cosmic personality and prime mover Prana, potent in all living beings and non-living beings --- heat, light, gravity, magnetism, vigor , power , vitality, life, spirit.

When a man is contented and happy , he has more Prana inside him. Anxiety vanishes entirely when you are one with the rest of the universe. When your mind is disturbed the fundamental energy Prana leaks . Pranayama just reverses the process.

Oxygen levels on this planet has plummeted to half of what it was 500 years ago--due to man made reasons. Consume food based anti-oxidants ( dark coloured berries etc ) to convert toxic free radicals into harmless elements.

Yoga says that longevity depends on slow diaphragmic breathing. A tortoise takes 4 breaths a minute and so lives more than 200 years.

People who do Pranayama regularly have quieter nerves , less lethargy , better sleep and lower BP.  It prevents accumulation of Uric acid which gives joint pains.

Fluctuations of mind are controlled and hence Pranayama prepares you for meditation.

Pranayama was created by the vedic sages who lived on the banks of the river Saraswati in 9000 BC.

  4. hi ss,

This is the 7000 year old Patanjali way.

Do surya namaskar— in a grateful frame of mind , to thank the universal laws, which sustain this planet.

    Punch into Google search-

After that drink some water and sit in pranayama pose , with the spirit level in your inner ear leveled.

Put your thumbs in your ears and palm your eyes with your middle and fourth finger.

This means your forefinger tips will rest on top of your amygdala.

If you shoot an arrow though your eye and your ear—the tips will meet on the amygdala, 2.5 cms inside your skull.

Now do OM CHANT with an audible MMMMMMM.

You will feel intense vibrations inside your ear — the cochlea spiral passage resonated to 7.83 hertz ( OM frequeny and also earth’s heart beat frequency ) and your brain produces NITRIC OXIDE .

All sensory data must first pass through the amygdala for emotional analyzing, before being sent off to the cerebral cortex for processing.

Imagine your LEFT amygdala vibrating and producing a plasma colour of blue.

By doing this you stimulate your amygdala forward , where it resonates the frontal lobes literally illuminating it white..

Stimulation of the LEFT amygdala mostly induces happiness. The left amygdala plays a role in the brain's reward system.

The amygdala has in turn been implicated in nearly every psychiatric disorder.

Children with anxiety disorders tend to have a smaller left amygdala. Amygdala uses more blood than any other part of the brain.

We humans are conscious creatures because we have more amygdala nuclei. It uses more blood than any other part of the brain.

We humans are conscious creatures because we have more amygdala nuclei.

There are functional differences between the right and left amygdala.

Electrical stimulations of the RIGHT amygdala induce negative emotions, especially fear and sadness.

Amygdala is the center for emotional intelligence, as all sensory data must first pass through the amygdala for emotional analyzing, before being sent off to the cerebral cortex for processing.

ALLERGY , THE OVERKILL RESPONSE OF SQUEAMISH IMMUNE SYSTEM VADAKAYIL

some people mistake allergic rhinitis to be asthma. you can read about it in the commnets column of the past above.

in Asthma breathing out takes TWICE as much time as breathing in, with spasms. read this line twice.

Asthma is caused by inflammation (swelling) in the airways. When an asthma attack occurs, the lining of the air passages swells and the muscles surrounding the airways become tight. This reduces the amount of air that can pass through the airway.

Most people with asthma have attacks separated by symptom-free periods. Either wheezing or a cough may be the main symptom.

Asthma attacks can last for minutes to days, and can become dangerous if the airflow is severely blocked.

      Symptoms include:

Cough with or without sputum (phlegm) production
Pulling in of the skin between the ribs when breathing (intercostal retractions)
Shortness of breath that gets worse with exercise or activity
      Wheezing

Emergency symptoms that need prompt medical help:

Bluish color to the lips and face
Decreased level of alertness, such as severe drowsiness or confusion, during an asthma attack
      Extreme difficulty breathing
      Rapid pulse
Severe anxiety due to shortness of breath

    1. Cleanliness to avoid allergants
    2. Pranayama and Yoga.

How much does exercises and sports like swimming, skating etc help. Its a common understanding that Asthma effected children should not be over stressed and moderate level of physical activity is advisable.

So far only Ayurvedic doctors have given a hope of completely curing Asthma.

    1. hi pk,

there are lot of IDIOTS who will give you falthu advise and suggest yoga asanas .

      first of all--

KNOW YOUR OWN CONDITION . ONLY YOUR DOCTOR CAN TELL YOU YOUR CONDITION.

The two most common levels in the cervical spine to herniate are the C5 - C6 level (cervical 5 and cervical 6) and the C6 -C7 level. The next most common is the C4 - C5 level,

C4 - C5 (C5 nerve root) - Can cause weakness in the deltoid muscle in the upper arm. Does not usually cause numbness or tingling. Can cause shoulder pain.
C5 - C6 (C6 nerve root) - Can cause weakness in the biceps (muscles in the front of the upper arms) and wrist extensor muscles. Numbness and tingling along with pain can radiate to the thumb side of the hand. This is one of the most common levels for a cervical disc herniation to occur.
C6 - C7 (C7 nerve root) - Can cause weakness in the triceps (muscles in the back of the upper arm and extending to the forearm) and the finger extensor muscles. Numbness and tingling along with pain can radiate down the triceps and into the middle finger. This is also one of the most common levels for a cervical disc herniation .

The single best test to diagnose a herniated disc is a MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) scan. A MRI scan can image any nerve root pinching caused by a herniated cervical disc.

Although a CT scan with myelogram is more sensitive it is also a slightly invasive test, as the myelogram dye must be injected into the spinal canal as part of the procedure. Because of the injection, a CT scan with myelogram is not usually the first test ordered.

Cervical disc disease may be the most common cause of neck pain. It's caused by an abnormality in one or more discs, the cushions that lie between the neck bones (vertebrae).
While pain relievers, physical therapy, neck traction, and as a last resort, surgery, can help ease neck pain from cervical disc disease,

While you are resting, find a comfortable position -- one that causes you the least amount of neck pain. You can place a rolled up towel or a pillow under your neck to help keep your neck in a neutral position.

Resting doesn't mean crawling into bed and remaining perfectly still, however. Staying immobile for more than a day or two actually can be harmful because it can decondition the muscles that support your neck and actually increase neck pain in the long run.

While your neck is healing, adjust your activity level to what you can comfortably handle. As you improve, gradually increase your activity level back to normal.

You can perform few exercises after warming up muscles with a warm shower, bath, or towel.

Here are a few simple stretches for cervical disc disease that you can do at home:

      1. Slowly turn your head to the left. With your left hand, apply very light tension on your chin so that your head turns slightly more. Hold for 20 seconds and return your head slowly to center. Repeat on the right side.
      2. Tilt your head to the left and try to touch your left ear to your shoulder. With your left hand, apply light pressure on your temple. Hold for 20 seconds and repeat on the right side.

      3. Bend your head forward and try to touch your chin to your chest. Relax the shoulders as you do this. Hold for 20 seconds and repeat.

      4. Lie on your back with your knees bent and a pillow under your head and neck for support. Nod your head forward gently, as though you were saying "yes." Hold the position for 10 seconds and then relax. Repeat 10 times.

If you feel significant discomfort with any of these stretches, stop immediately.

Thirty minutes of aerobic exercise ( swimming) every day can improve blood flow, nourishing your spine to keep it healthy.

    2. CONTINUED FROM 2-

Bad posture is a major contributor to neck pain.. Always try to keep your head and neck straight and make sure your back is supported. When you sit at your desk, for example, your computer should be at eye level and your chair should be right up against your back (in other words, don't press your nose against the computer screen). Your mouse should be positioned low enough so that you don't have to continually reach for it. When you go to pick something up, don't lean forward. Instead, bend from your knees and keep your back straight.

As with physical therapy, chiropractors can manipulate the neck joints to reduce stiffness, improve mobility, and increase range of motion.

One technique used by physical therapists and chiropractors to provide pain relief and improve motion is cervical traction. Traction gently extends the neck, opening the spaces between the cervical vertebrae and temporarily alleviating pressure on the affected discs. Neck traction can either be done continuously or intermittently, alternating between short periods of pulling and resting.

It’s also possible to do cervical traction at home. There are pulley systems that you can hook up to a doorway, or devices that will enable you to perform cervical traction while lying down. It’s important if you do cervical traction on your own to see your physical therapist first to make sure that you buy the right equipment and learn how to set it up correctly.

Cervical pillows (neck pillows) are designed to partially immobilize the neck while you sleep. However there is no research to support the effectiveness of cervical pillows. It’s a good idea to ask your physical therapist for a recommendation.

Rigid cervical collars do immobilize the neck but are uncomfortable for long-term use.

Neck pain is one of the main symptoms of cervical disc disease, in which discs between vertebrae become herniated or deteriorate, sometimes pinching nerves.

Several different drugs, from pain relievers to anti-inflammatory drugs such as steroids, can help ease your neck pain while you heal.

REMEMBER MEDICINES LIKE ACETAMINOPHEN / PARACETAMOL AFFECT YOUR LIVER.

don't fall under the common misperception that acetaminophen is completely harmless just because it's readily available over-the-counter.

Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil) and naproxen (Aleve) are staples in the treatment of cervical disc disease because they reduce both pain and inflammation. Like acetaminophen, many NSAIDs are available over-the-counter, but they also need to be taken carefully. NSAIDs can have some serious side effects, such as gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, and liver and kidney damage, especially when used for long periods of time. NSAIDs have also been linked to an increased risk of stroke.

The management quota 85 lakh donation party doctors do NOT know all this.

When a herniated disc occurs, it can put pressure on nearby spinal nerves (radiculopathy) or the spinal cord (myelopathy), causing painful symptoms.

Pain in your arms as well as in your neck is usually the first sign that your nerve roots are irritated by a problem in your neck.

      CONTINUED TO 3-

      Delete
    3. CONTINUED FROM 2-

Symptoms such as numbness, tingling, and especially weakness in the muscles of your arms, are warning signs that your problem may be more serious. Weakness in your arms is a definite sign that you should see a doctor about your neck pain.

Not all patients with neck pain require surgery. In fact, more than 95% find symptom relief through non-surgical therapies such as exercise, medication, physical therapy, and chiropractic care.

The cervical spine in your neck is made up of seven bones called vertebrae, which are separated by discs filled with a cushioning gel-like substance. Your cervical discs both stabilize your neck and allow it to turn smoothly from side to side and bend forward to back. Without discs, the spine would be very stiff. Discs allow our body to move in the way that we want. They also provide cushion for the body, acting as a shock absorber.

Over time, these natural shock absorbers become worn and can start to degenerate. The space between the vertebrae narrows and nerve roots become pinched. This process is known as cervical degenerative disc disease.

Research finds that about 25% of people without symptoms under age 40, and 60% over age 40 have some degree of degenerative disc disease. As degenerative disc disease progresses, the neck becomes less flexible, and you may feel neck pain and stiffness, especially towards the end of the day.

When the disc breaks open or bulges out, putting pressure on the spinal cord or nerve roots, it is known as a herniated disc or "slipped disc." Although cervical disc disease is generally a slow process, a herniated disc sometimes can occur quickly after an injury or trauma to the neck.

Watch your posture, always keeping your neck straight and your back well supported.

Herniation of the disc occurs when the gelatinous inner disc material, the nucleus pulpous, ruptures, or herniates, through the outer cervical disc wall.

Symptoms of cervical herniated disc may include:

      • Pain that radiates down the arm to the hand or fingers
      • Numbness or tingling in the shoulder, arm, or hands
      • Weakness of hand and or arms
      • Difficulty with fine motor skills in the hands and arms

If you have a problem with your neck now, the odds are it won't last forever .

If pain from a cervical disc herniation lasts longer than 6 to 12 weeks, or if the pain and disability are severe, spine surgery may be a reasonable option. Spine surgery for a cervical herniated disc is generally very reliable and can be done with a minimal amount of postoperative pain and morbidity (unwanted after effects).

Please enlighten us with the benefits of Mool Bandh and how it can be done?

    1. hi pk,

A bandha is a prana lock.

This is one of the secrets of Tantra and is NOT taught unless supervised by a genuine guru. So I shall give only a brief explanation.

72,000 nadis originate in a place just above muladhara chakra known as “medhra.” Mula bandha stimulates all 72,000 nadis at their source, an effect which makes it very powerful.

Mula Bandha draws energy towards the lower end of the spine, into the Muladhara Chakra.

There are three bandhas employed in yoga: the root valve located at the perineum (called mula bandha, also spelled as moola bandha), the stomach valve located around the belly (called uddiyana bandha) and the chin valve located at the throat (called jalandhara bandha).

Mula bandha is performed by contracting and lifting inward and upward the muscles of the perineum—a muscle between the asshole and the balls- to sublimate sexual energy and raise it to higher chakras.

As you “lock” the muscles of the perineum, you “unlock” prana and redirecting the flow upwards and reversing the natural tendency of apana to flow downwards.

This muscle is NOT the muscle contracted when you are trying to hold a shit, NOR the muscle with which you are tyring to hold a pee.--but the muscle equidistant between the two, which contract during sexual orgasm .

This muscle help men control premature ejaculation and women to have natural childbirth.

This bandha indeed is the root (moola ) of creation and is mentioned in the 7000 year old Upanishads.

The sleeping kundalini is aroused by the extreme heat and just as a serpent beaten with a stick straightens and hisses.

The pubococcygeus muscle is a hammock-like muscle, that stretches from the pubic bone to the coccyx (tail bone) forming the floor of the pelvic cavity and supporting the pelvic organs.

Activate this Mula Bandha at the end of an inhalation, as the exhalation starts. Draw the pelvic floor in and up.

Brahma granthi, ( the knot of Brahma ) located near muladhara chakra, is pierced and then untied by a moola bandha.

Kundlaini cannot travel upwards unless the Brahma Granthi is untied.

By the way Brahma Granthi ( a muladhara chakra ) is related to the physical body, Vishnu Granthi ( at anahata chakra ) is related to the astral body and Rudra Granthi ( at Ajna chakra ) is related to the causal body.

When Kundalini ascends Vishuddha Chakra and reaches Ajna Chakra, and beyond the five elements of earth, water, fire, air, and akasha- he Ida and Pingala nadis cross over each other and disintegrate in the left and right nostrils, respectively.

As lunar and solar channels, Ida and Pingala are time bound. After this plexis in Ajna Chakra, the time bound consciousness dissolves, and one establishes himself in Infinity.

Well, Kalki Koechlin baby( of India today 2014 conclave fame ) , I suggest you stick to ONE husband – five is too much for you.

    1. hi h,

Aerobic running or respiration occurs when your body has sufficient oxygen – like when you run easy miles with you friends. You breathe in, the body efficiently uses all the oxygen it needs to power the muscles, and you exhale. Basically, when you are “running aerobically”, your muscles have enough oxygen to produce all the energy they need to perform.

The waste products of aerobic respiration are carbon dioxide and water. These byproducts are easily expelled through the simple act of breathing. This is why your breath is carbon dioxide rich and moist.

When you’re running, feeding your muscles the oxygen they need is of paramount importance, and breathing through the mouth is the most effective way to inhale and exhale oxygen.

Anaerobic respiration happens when there is NOT sufficient oxygen present.
In this instance, the muscles do not have enough oxygen to create the energy you are demanding from them (like in an all-out sprint at the finish).

When this happens the muscles begin to break down sugar, but instead of producing CO2 and water, it produces lactic acid (that burning feeling in your muscles at the end of a race). Unfortunately, lactic acid is harder to clear than water and CO2. Thus, lactic acid accumulates in your system, causing extreme fatigue.

If you begin to run too hard at the start of a race, your body goes into an anaerobic state, producing lactic acid. If you “go anaerobic” early in a race, you will begin to feel fatigued sooner and become increasingly tired as the race progresses. The accumulation of lactic acid pools in your muscles and you have to slow dramatically to get back to an aerobic state . During the marathon, you need to conserve as much fuel as possible, so if you run faster than your aerobic threshold (the point at which you go from running 100% aerobically to producing lactic acid) you will burn through your fuel stores faster and more than likely to drop out before you finish.

Running in anaerobic mode where you foam inside the mouth, is NOT conducive to good health. Excess lactic acid is not easily removed from your body as carbon dioxide and water are. Carbon dioxide and water can be expelled through your breath, but lactic acid excesses cannot. The result is lactic acid accumulating in your system.

Too much lactic acid tilts cell metabolism into excess free radical production and inflammation, and leads to the suppression of the immune system.

    2. Hence breathing through nose was adviced in ayurveda while performing exercise and capacity till half capacity ( balardh ). Exercising this way slowly increases stamina and the half capacity increases. So if today walkiing 1km is my half capacity after 20 days maybe it ll be 5km and i would be still breathing through my nose.

Once i start breathing through my mouth i stop, also when i sweat at forehead or nose

    1. hi am,

Time to let out a few secrets –which probably Ramdev does NOT know.

Probably this is the reason why he fasted for a few days and then --pooora LUTAK GAYA.

There are three types of Pranayama, viz., Adhama, Madhyama and Uttama (inferior, middle and superior).

The Adhama Pranayama consists of 12 Matras, Madhyama consists of 24 Matras and the Uttama occupies a time of 32 Matras.

The ratio between Puraka, Kumbhaka and Rechaka is 1:4:2.

Puraka is inhalation. Kumbhaka is retention. Rechaka is exhalation.

If you inhale for a period of 12 Matras you will have to make Kumbhaka for a period of 48 Matras. Then the time for Rechaka will be 24 Matras. This is for Adhama Pranayama.
The same rule will apply to the other two varieties.

First, practise for a month of Adhama Pranayama. Then practise Madhyama for three months. Then take up the Uttama variety.

Time is, the time of duration of each of these, which is generally counted by Matra, which corresponds to one second. Matra means a measure.

      Now—why 1-4-2 ?

      Kumbhaka is retention of breath.

Kumbhaka increases the period of life. It augments the inner spiritual force, vigour and vitality.

If you retain the breath for one minute, this one minute is added to your span of life. Yogins by taking the breath to the Brahmarandhra at the top of the head and keeping it there, defeat the Lord of death, Yama, and conquer death

A Yogi measures the span of his life not by the number of years but by the number of his breaths. Vital capacity is the capacity shown by the largest quantity of air a man can inhale after the deepest possible exhalation.

      Again-

When the breath is expired, it is Rechaka, when the breath is drawn in, it is Puraka. When it is suspended, it is called Kumbhaka.

Tasmin sati svasaprasvasayor-gativicchedah pranayamah—“Regulation of breath or the control of Prana is the stoppage of inhalation and exhalation, which follows after securing that steadiness of posture or seat.”( Patanjali -yoga sutra ).

The permanence of that thought thereafter is the restrained breath. This is the Pranayama of the wise, while the pressing of the nose is only for the unknowing.” (Adi Shankaracharya-2000 BC Aparokshanubhuti, 118-120).

Pranayama is the perfect control of the life-currents through control of breath.

It is strongly recommended not to hold breath 1-4-2 unless learning pranayama from an experiences yoga guru.

Pranayama exercises should be preceded by relaxation in Savasana.

After three months' regular and continuous practice, only, you must attempt to introduce Kumbhaka or retention of breath.

The intial ratio in the time for inhalation, retention and exhalation for beginners may be 1:2:2.

As you advance in the practice of pranayama , you may adopt the best ratio 1:4:2.

Gradually increase the period of Kumbhaka. Retain for 4 seconds in the first week, for 8 seconds in the second week, for 12 seconds in the third week and so on, till you are able to retain the breath to your full capacity.

Exhalation must have MMMMM. Pranayama exercises should be preceded by relaxation in Savasana.

He who practises this Pranayama regularly, the proper way, will not be affected by the bite of serpents and scorpions-as per our ancient scriptures .

He who practises Pranayama the right way, will have good appetite, cheerfulness, handsome figure, good strength, courage, enthusiasm, a high standard of health, vigour and vitality and good concentration of mind.

“Dharanasu cha yogyata manasah—The mind becomes fit for concentration” (Yoga Sutras, II-53—5000 BC ).

    4. hi sd,

Nadis are the astral tubes made up of astral matter that carry psychic currents. It is through these Nadis (Sukshma, subtle passages), that the vital force or Pranic current moves or flows.

Ida and Pingala Nadis are on the two sides of the spinal cord and Sushumna is within the spinal cord. Ida operates through the left nostril and Pingala through the right nostril. When the breath operates through Sushumna, the mind becomes steady. Ida flows through the left nostril and Pingala through the right nostril.

Ida is also called Chandra Nadi (moon) and Pingala as Surya Nadi (sun). Ida is cooling and Pingala is heating.

Does that mean we don't have to breath in from one nose - hold - breath out from another? Can we follow 1-4-2 with normal breathing thru both nostrils like normal breathing? Kindly clarify. How much time should a beginner devote to Pranayam.

      however --

Pressing on the perineum, a spot midway between your scrotum and your as$hole will help to stop ejaculation because this spot reaches through to the prostate gland. It is the prostate that contracts and expands during orgasm and then expels the ejaculation fluid. It this spot is beyond your reach tell your wife to apply this pressure..

      Delete
    5. hi bz,

a lot of yoga was INVENTED by the white invader and kapalbhatti HYPERVENTILATION is one of these.

In 8000 year old yoga we had Vatakrama kapalabhati, where exhalation is active while inhalation is passive, the opposite of normal breathing.

We had Vyutkrama kapalabhati where water is drunk through the nose and expelled from the mouth .

We had Sheetkrama kapalabhati, the reverse of Vyutkrama kapalabhati, in which water is taken in through the mouth and expelled through the nose.

YOGA DOES NOT SUPPORT HYPERVENTILATION !

      Our Vedas caution against it.

Example: Sama Veda, “Yatha sinho gaja vyadho, bhavedvashya shanaiha shanaiha. Thartheva sevitho vayurnyartha hanthi sadhakam”

(Just like an elephant, a lion or a tiger can be tamed slowly and gradually, in the same way a practitioner should try to tame his breath slowly, slowly or else it kills the practitioner himself )

kapal bhatti shown on TV causes hernia and then you are screwed.

HYPER VENTILATION shortens your life span .

What the hell is TRIPLE SRI doing -- he patented hyperventilation and is making money on it. Martini effect ( Nitrogen narcosis destroys your brain) .

Fake yoga gurus have caused strangulated hernia -- which is a life-threatening condition.

Does TRIPLE SRI know yoga? Where did he do his training ?

A hiatal hernia occurs when the top portion of the stomach pushes through a weakened opening in the diaphragm where the food pipe (esophagus) joins your stomach (called the hiatal opening).

Inguinal hernia is due to weakness of the abdominal muscles which holds the organs in their original positions . So the organ gets protruded through inguinal canal and sometimes to scrotum.

An incarcerated hernia happens when part of the fat or small intestine from inside the abdomen becomes stuck in the groin or scrotum and cannot go back into the abdomen

Aerophagia is a condition where a person ingests too much air, which goes into the abdomen and results in sporadic belching-- this happens when you hyperventilate .

Break Hernia is the outcropping of a part of the abdomen into the thoracic (chest) hole due to decline or crack of the diaphragm.

yogic breathing is NOT hyperventilation like kapalbhatti -- or triple sri ravishankar's SOO HUM -- it is deep diaphragmatic breathing.

Did his GARGANTUAL TONDH not come in between his training ?

Is his body a Yoga teachers body like BKS Iyengar or Ramdev ?

Can TRIPLE SRI strip down to his waist and show us his yogic body ?

  28. Dear Sir
    I read that in Kriya yoga (originated by Sri Lahari mahasaya passed onto him by the Sri Mahavatar babaji) one breathes in and out with the mouth as in Bhagavad gita (Chapter 4 verse 29) ;
    apane juhvati pranam
    prane 'panam tathapare
    pranapana-gati ruddhva
    pranayama-parayanah
    apare niyataharah
    pranan pranesu juhvati

(Other devotees offer as sacrifice the incoming breath of prana in the outgoing breath of apana, and the outgoing breath of apana in the incoming breath of prana, thus arresting the cause of inhalation and exhalation (rendering breath unnecessary) by intent practice of pranayama (the life-control technique of Kriya Yoga)

The essence of Kriya yoga is this sloka and as per the current practices institued by Sri Lahari Mahasaya/Sri Yogananda, the actual Kriya is done through mouth and not nose .

it causes martini effect ( nitrogen narcosis ) which is bad for the brains.

and to top all this he has patented it and charges money for this course .

  31. hi v,

Yogic breathing is diaphragmatic breathing, or deep breathing is breathing that is done by contracting the diaphragm, a muscle located horizontally between the chest cavity and stomach cavity. Air enters the lungs and the belly expands during this type of breathing. This deep breathing is marked by expansion of the abdomen rather than the chest when breathing.

Yogic breathing is relaxing and prevents symptoms associated with stress, like high blood pressure, headaches, stomach conditions, depression, anxiety, etc
Shallow breathing, thoracic breathing, or chest breathing is the drawing of breath into the lungs, by drawing air into the chest area using the intercostal muscles rather than throughout the lungs via the diaphragm. Shallow chest breathing causes health disorders - anxiety disorders, asthma, hyperventilation, pneumonia, pulmonary edema, and shock.

Conversely anxiety, stress, and panic attacks often accompany shallow breathing. Ayurveda and Yoga has recorded this 6000 years ago.

TRIPLE SRI patented sudarshan kriya causes Nitraogen Narcosis ( Martini effect ) which damages the brain.

WHEN MY WIFE DID HER SUDRAHSNA KRIYA COURSE , WITH TRIPLE SRI—I HAD ASKED HER TO REPORT BACK TO ME ABOUT CARPOPEDAL SPASMS—WHICH SHE EXPERIENCED . SHE HAD TO TUCK HET BODY EXTREMETIES LIKE PALMS AND FEET WITHING HER BODY COCOON TO ALEVIATE THIS CONDITION.

If excess ventilation cannot be compensated metabolically, it will lead to a rise in blood pH. This rise in blood pH is known as respiratory alkalosis. When hyperventilation leads to respiratory alkalosis, it causes a number of physical symptoms: dizziness, tingling in the lips, hands or feet, headache, weakness, fainting and seizures.

In extreme cases it can cause carpopedal spasms (flapping and contraction of the hands and feet). Your body relies on carbonic acid to regulate the acidity of the entire bloodstream. By hyperventilating you remove far too much CO2 from your blood.

The acidity of your bloodstream falls as a result. This has all sorts of nasty effects on your body if it is sustained, not least of which is an interference with nerve transmissions.

Hypocalcemia, which results from hyperventilation, can cause tingling sensations, spasms of the muscles, and even convulsions. Hyperventilating DOES store extra oxygen. But you can't necessarily use that extra oxygen, because with low CO2, your blood becomes too alkaline.

Hemoglobin, in an alkaline environment, doesn't want to release the oxygen bound to it.
Anesthesiologists sometimes recommend that their patients hyperventilate prior to putting them under general anesthesia. Bhastrika yoga which employs voluntary hyperventilation is NOT Vedic Yoga . This is white man’s yoga.

The Martini effect theory developed by divers is that every ten meters (33 feet) of depth is the equivalent of drinking a martini. At 30 meters (100 feet), the depth at which Nitrogen Narcosis becomes noticeable the feeling is said to be the equivalent of having consumed 3 martinis. 40 meters (130 feet) would be 4 martinis, etc. Nitrogen narcosis is a neurological impairment caused by excess dissolved blood nitrogen .

I do NOT want to launch into VO2 max and confuse my readers.

Mool bandh, 2. purak thru ida-inhale thru left 3. rechak thru pingala - exhale thru right 4. purak thru Pingala -inhale thru right 5. exhale thru right 6. Release mool bandh. 7. Repeat 1-6. Is this right ?

Or do we not mind about mool bandh at all as a beginner ?

And I had been doing surya namaskar (morning) and also gym(evening) regularly. had some gap due to travel etc. Started going to gym after a long time and started developing tennis elbow on the left hand, taking some pain relievers and oinment for tennis elbow. Am more a right hander but do many things in left too, like brushing in my left, using mouse of computer in the left, Cricket batting in left &right and bowling in right, etc. Can you please suggest me a cure before the pain aggaravtes ? can I continue to do Surya Namaskar ?

    1. hi k,

just stick to what i have said in my two posts below-

      forget about mool bandh.

      http://ajitvadakayil.blogspot.in/2010/11/pranayama-capt-ajit-vadakayil.html

      http://ajitvadakayil.blogspot.in/2011/10/surya-namaskar-11000-year-old-vedic-sun.html

if your elbow pains do NOT do surya namaskar-- just do pranayama.

There is pain near the elbow when the wrist is bent backwards. There is pain or tenderness when the tendon is gently pressed near where it attaches to the upper arm bone, over the outside of the elbow.

95% of patients have success with nonsurgical treatment. The first step toward recovery is to give your arm proper rest. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen reduce pain and swelling—do NOT take it continuously .

You can buy a special brace for tennis elbow at most drug stores. It wraps around the upper part of your forearm and takes some of the pressure off the muscles.

Tennis elbow is an inflammation of the tendons that join the forearm muscles on the outside of the elbow. The bony bump on the outside (lateral side) of the elbow is called the lateral epicondyle.

Lateral epicondylitis, or tennis elbow, involves the muscles and tendons of your forearm. Your forearm muscles extend your wrist and fingers. Your forearm tendons -- often called extensors -- attach the muscles to bone. They attach on the lateral epicondyle. The tendon usually involved in tennis elbow is called the Extensor Carpi Radialis Brevis (ECRB).

The extensor carpi radialis brevis (ECRB) muscle helps stabilize the wrist when the elbow is straight.. When the ECRB is weakened from overuse, microscopic tears form in the tendon where it attaches to the lateral epicondyle. This leads to inflammation and pain.

As the elbow bends and straightens, the muscle rubs against bony bumps. This can cause gradual wear and tear of the muscle over time.

Common signs and symptoms of tennis elbow include:--
Pain or burning on the outer part of your elbow
      Weak grip strength

Repetitive twisting of the wrist (like using a screwdriver) can lead to this condition. This condition may also be due to constant computer keyboard and mouse use.

  33. Capt.,
Thanks a bunch. Falling in love with your knowledge and spontaneity more and more. Genius. My elbow pain when even stretch it full length, not even considering moving my wrist. And strangely, it pains more as soon as I get up from bed and as I use the hand, it does not even remind me that I have a pain, but when I stretch, it does pain a lot.

Let me change the pattern of usage of my left to the right. Was taking pride that I was ambidextrous, but had to give up for this reason. Hope to get back well soon.

Most brain diseases are characterized by chronic hyperventilation, there are additional effects due to low CO2 levels in the CNS. . .

Hyperventilation immediately causes a changed state of consciousness albeit a FAKE one . Many old people while doing hyperventilation on their beds have died . ..

modern doctors do NOT even know the difference between crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. and what ever they do NOT know they call it a genetic disorder.

there is NO cure for crohn's disease in allopathy.

indians never got crohn's disease -- because very have a daily onslaught of turmeric in our curry.

crohn's disease is monopolised by the white jews.

Crohn’s disease is a long-term condition that causes inflammation of the lining of the digestive system especially the last section of the small intestine or the large intestine .

the west gets this disease due to GM foods, processed foods, A1 milk, hormone injected meats , cooking oils which produce free radicals when heated to fry etc.

      Common symptoms are:
      diarrhoea
      abdominal pain
      fatigue
      unintended weight loss
blood and mucus in your faeces

people with crohn’s disease sometimes go for long periods without symptoms, and this period is known as remission. remission can be followed by periods where symptoms flare up real bad.

6000 years ayurveda used pomegranate peel to prevent and manage problems like crohn's disease.

since you have been diagonised with chron's disease you must know that your own immune system is attacking your own body.

YOU MUST ALSO KNOW THAT IT IS BETTER TO TAKE A SECOND OPINION .

crohn's disease is usually mistaken by stupid doctors for other disorders, such as irritable bowel syndrome and ulcerative colitis.

      punch into google search-
ALLERGY , THE OVERKILL RESPONSE OF SQUEAMISH IMMUNE SYSTEM VADAKAYIL

while ulcerative colitis causes inflammation and ulcers in the TOP layer of the lining of the large intestine, ALL layers of the intestine may be inflamed , with ulcers in crohn's disease.

the sureshot diagnosis--crohn's disease patient's bowels can have normal healthy sections in between the diseased parts.

crohn's disease of the small intestine may cause obstruction of the intestine.

      crohn's disease is not contagious.

      CONTINUED TO 2

      Delete
    2. CONTINUED FROM 1-

the ulcers of crohn's disease causes scarring and hence stiffness of the bowel. as the disease progresses, the bowel becomes increasingly narrowed, and ultimately can become obstructed.

deep ulcers can puncture holes in the wall of the bowel, and bacteria from within the bowel can spread to infect adjacent organs and the surrounding abdominal cavity--and now you are up sjit creek without a paddle.

when the intestine is obstructed, digesting food, fluid and gas from the stomach and the small intestine cannot pass into the colon. the symptoms of small intestinal obstruction then appear, including severe abdominal cramps, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal distention.

deep ulcers can puncture holes in the walls of the small intestine and the colon, and create a tunnel between the intestine and adjacent organs. if the ulcer tunnel reaches an adjacent empty space inside the abdominal cavity, an abdominal abscess is formed.

when the ulcer tunnels into an adjacent organ, a channel (fistula) is formed.

the formation of a fistula between the intestine and the bladder can cause frequent urinary tract infections and the passage of gas and feces during urination.

the development of a fistula between the colon and the vagina causes gas and SHIT to emerge through the vagina. ( Oh Boy ! -- lesbians beware )

when a fistula develops between the intestine and the skin , pus and mucous emerge from a small painful opening on the skin of the abdomen.

the presence of a fistula from the intestines to the anus leads to a discharge of mucous and pus from the fistula's opening around the anus.( Oh blimey ! gays beware ).

up to one-third of patients with crohn's disease may develop anal fistulae (abnormal tunnels) between the anus or rectum and the skin surrounding the anus--mucous and pus may drain from the openings of the fistulae on the skin. ( brides and bridegrooms -- wanna check this out in your matrimonial ads -- HEALTH IS WEALTH OK ? )

all above is in addition to possible inflammation of the liver or bile ducts .

nowadays they use video capsule endoscopy(VCE) for diagnosing crohn's disease. a capsule containing a miniature video camera is swallowed. as the capsule travels through the small intestine, it sends video images.

old methods of swallowing barium meal, enema of barium ( for Xrays ) , CAT scan, colonoscopy etc are still in use.

crohn's patients have diarrhea. the inflammationcauses cells in the affected areas of your intestine to secrete large amounts of water and salt. because the colon can't completely absorb this excess fluid, you develop diarrhea..

crohn's disease can cause arthritis, inflammation of the eyes or skin, kidney stones, gallstones and inflammation of the bile ducts.

like i said crohn’s disease iccan cause intestinal blockage caused by thickening of the intestinal wall because of swelling and SCAR TISSUE which is NOT elastic. in addition to fistulas, small tears called fissures may develop in the lining of the mucus membrane of the anus. now you know why some gays get AIDS-- as they doctors have merrily given them immuno suppressants ..

immunosuppressive medications work by blocking the immune reaction that contributes to inflammation.

Wanted to consult whether pranayama will help or not- kapalbhati and anulomvilom pranayama...I have seen youtube videos where people have cured their cancer and other stuff, but never found any person to acknowledge that they have healed their mental illness like Asperger's, Bipolar disorder or schizophrenia. One more thing, why do people on the internet keep refraining from doing kapalbhati pranayama and say that each stroke actually "REDUCES" life by one 1 second..is this true or just another hogwash.

    1. hi sp,

western medicine has NOT understood tourette syndrome.

anything which western medicine does NOT understand is called GENETIC DISEASE.

this disease is now spreading like wild fire in the west - and they have kept the lid on it.

      http://ajitvadakayil.blogspot.in/2013/12/shocking-legacy-of-mad-cow-disease-capt.html

meanwhile everybody is making money on treatments -which do NOT work.

patient grab at any straw as life can become unmanageable .

Tourette syndrome (TS) is a neurological disorder characterized by repetitive, stereotyped, involuntary movements and vocalizations called tics.

Tics do not go away during sleep but are often significantly diminished.

TS is not a psychological condition, but doctors sometimes refer teens with TS to a psychologist or psychiatrist TO MILK THE PATIENT .

Seeing a therapist won't stop tics.

Doctors will give you UNWANTED drugs that block or deplete the neurotransmitter dopamine in the brain--UNWANTED medicines for OCD/ ADHD with severe side effects - UNWANTED Botulinum toxin type A (Botox) injections into the affected muscle -- UNWANTED Stimulant medications -- UNWANTED anti-depressants -- UNWANTED pscyhoterapy-- UNWANTED behavior therapy-- UNWANTED deep brain stimulation by implanting a battery-operated medical device (neurostimulator) in the brain to deliver electrical stimulation to targeted areas that control movement. BLAH BLAH

Tourette’s syndrome is more common than most people realise. It affects around more than one in every 100 people.
Common motor tics seen in Tourette syndrome
      Simple tics Complex tics
      Eye blinking Touching the nose
      Head jerking Touching other people
      Shoulder shrugging Smelling objects
      Eye darting Obscene gesturing
      Finger flexing Flapping the arms
      Sticking the tongue out Hopping
Common vocal tics seen in Tourette syndrome
      Simple tics Complex tics
Hiccuping Using different tones of voice
Yelling Repeating one's own words or phrases
Throat clearing Repeating others' words or phrases
Barking Using vulgar, obscene or swear words
In addition, if you have Tourette syndrome, your tics may:

Vary in type, frequency and severity
Worsen if you're ill, stressed, anxious, tired or excited
      Occur during sleep
Evolve into different tics over time
Worsen during teenage years and improve during the transition into adulthood

The tics don't usually pose a serious threat to a person's overall health, although physical tics, such as jerking of the head, can often be painful - and the person cant do a job, get married or mingle in society.

TS does not impair intelligence. Males are affected about three to four times more often than females

But would definitly seek your opinion about the proper treatment . . 1. hi v,

you are part of a 96% disc herniation group.

      KNOW YOUR CONDITION

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWR1M90NG5s

The weak spot in the outer core of the intervertebral disc is directly under the spinal nerve root, so a herniation in this area puts direct pressure on the nerve.

The nerve runs through the leg, and any type of pinched nerve in the lower spine can cause pain to radiate along the path of the nerve through the buttock and down the leg. This type of pain is also called sciatica

General symptoms typically include one or a combination of the following:

Leg pain (sciatica), which may occur with or without lower back pain. Typically the leg pain is worse than the lower back pain.
Numbness, weakness and/or tingling in the leg
Lower back pain and/or pain in the buttock
Loss of bladder or bowel control (rare), which may be an indication of a serious medical condition called cauda equina syndrome.

L5 nerve impingement (at the L4 – L5 level) from a herniated disc can cause weakness in extending the big toe and potentially in the ankle (foot drop). Numbness and pain can be felt on top of the foot, and the pain may also radiate into the buttock.

S1 nerve impingement (at the L5 – S1 level) from a herniated disc may cause loss of the ankle reflex and/or weakness in ankle push off (patients cannot do toe rises). Numbness and pain can radiate down to the sole or outside of the foot.

The most common herniated disc nonsurgical treatments include:

      Physical therapy
      Osteopathic/chiropractic manipulation (manual manipulation)
      Heat and/or ice therapy
      Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)
Oral steroids (e.g. prednisone or methyprednisolone)
      An epidural (cortisone) injection

usually pain and other symptoms will be manageable after six weeks.

A microdiscectomy is designed to take the pressure off the nerve root and to provide the nerve with a better healing environment. Usually, only the small portion of the disc that is pushing against the nerve root needs to be removed, and the majority of the intervertebral disc remains intact.

      IF NOT-

Using microsurgical techniques and a small incision, a microdiscectomy can usually be done on an outpatient basis or with one overnight stay in the hospital, and most patients can return to work full duty in one to three weeks.

with an experienced surgeon, the success rate of this surgery should be about 95%.

Unfortunately, approximately 10% of patients will experience another disc herniation at the same location. This recurrence is most likely to happen early in the postoperative period (within the first three months), although it can happen years later. Usually a recurrence can be handled with another microdiscectomy.

If it recurs multiple times, a lumbar fusion surgery to stop the motion at the disc level and remove all of the disc material may be considered.

IF YOU HAVE PAIN ON THE RIGHT LEG -- THERE IS A KALARI MARMA ON YOUR LEFT SHOULDER BLADE ( OPPOSITE SIDE ) 5 INCHES FROM TOP AND ABOUT 3 INCHES FROM THE SIDE - WHICH WILL PAIN VERY BADLY WHEN PRESSURE IS APPLIED USING THE ROUND END OF A PEN .

ASK A FRIEND TO APPLY THIS PRESSURE AND LOCATE THE EXACT SPOT.

IF YOU HAVE IT LET ME KNOW.

    1. hi l,

Hemoglobin is an iron-rich protein present in red blood cells. This protein is responsible for carrying oxygen throughout the body.

Its main function is to transport oxygen from the lungs to the body’s tissues, so that living cells can perform properly. Hemoglobin also helps carry carbon dioxide away from the cells and transport it back to the lungs.

As the role of hemoglobin is very important for leading a healthy life, it is necessary to maintain it in normal levels in your blood, which is:

14 to 18 mg/dl for adult men, and
      12 to 16 mg/dl for adult women.

These values are applicable for adults and may vary slightly among different laboratories due to their different methods and measurements. When the hemoglobin level decreases, it can cause fatigue, weakness, shortness of breath, dizziness, headaches, pale skin, brittle nails, rapid heartbeat and poor appetite.

If the level drops significantly, the condition may be diagnosed as anemia and symptoms can become severe.

It is common for women to experience low hemoglobin levels during pregnancy or periods. However, there can be many other reasons behind it. The most common cause is nutritional deficiencies of iron, folic acid, and vitamins C and B12.

In most cases, low hemoglobin is associated with conditions that cause or contribute to fewer red blood cells.

Depending on the reason behind the drop in hemoglobin, there are certain natural ways that are effective in restoring it to a normal level.

Eat Iron-Rich Foods- liver, red meat, shrimp, spinach, almonds, dates, lentils, asparagus etc

Increase Vitamin C Intake- papaya, oranges, lemon, bell peppers, broccoli, grapefruit, tomatoes , spinach etc.

Take Folic Acid, a B-complex vitamin, is required to make red blood cells. So, a folic acid deficiency automatically leads to a low hemoglobin level. Some good food sources of folic acid are green leafy vegetables, liver, rice, sprouts, dried beans, peanuts, bananas, sesame seeds, broccoli, liver etc

      Eat beetroots, apples, pomegranate etc.

      DO YOGA AND PRANAYAMA !

    1. hi cu,

      GOOD NEWS IS AT HAND.

STEM CELL THERAPY IS NOW DONE IN INDIA FOR CEREBRAL PALSY.

      http://indiatoday.intoday.in/story/nashik-teens-successfully-undergo-stem-cell-therapy-%C2%A0/1/564885.html

Kids with cerebral palsy have been treated successfully.

A couple of sessions ofstem cells injections of neural stem cells along with treatment to activate own stem cells, initiate nerve repair and regeneration. There are treatments for nerve nourishment, circulation improvement and immune adjustment. This must be accompanied with the rehabilitation for motion and speech

      SOME INFORMATION:

Cerebral palsy is considered a neurological disorder caused by a non-progressive brain injury or malformation that occurs while the child’s brain is under development. Cerebral palsy primarily affects body movement and muscle coordination.

Cerebral palsy is actually caused by brain damage. The brain damage is caused by brain injury or abnormal development of the brain that occurs while a child’s brain is still developing — before birth, during birth, or immediately after birth.

Cerebral palsy affects body movement, muscle control, muscle coordination, muscle tone, reflex, posture and balance. It can also impact fine motor skills, gross motor skills and oral motor functioning.

Cerebral palsy affects muscles and a person’s ability to control them. Muscles can contract too much, too little, or all at the same time. Limbs can be stiff and forced into painful, awkward positions. Fluctuating muscle contractions can make limbs tremble, shake, or writhe.

Balance, posture, and coordination can also be affected by cerebral palsy. Tasks such as walking, sitting, or tying shoes may be difficult for some, while others might have difficulty grasping objects.

Other complications, such as intellectual impairment, seizures, and vision or hearing impairment also commonly accompany cerebral palsy.

Every case of cerebral palsy is unique to the individual. One person may have total paralysis and require constant care, while another with partial paralysis might have slight movement tremors but require little assistance. This is due in part by the type of injury and the timing of the injury to the developing brain.

Cerebral palsy is non-life-threatening.. Most children with cerebral palsy are expected to live well into adulthood.

.. Severe illness (such as meningitis) during the first years of life, physical trauma, and severe dehydration can cause brain injury and result in CP.
Toe walking can be caused by cerebral palsy — a disorder of movement,

NOBODY WILL TELL YOU THIS--IN THE PHILLIPINES MOST CEREBRAL PALSY CASES ARE DUE TO PREGNANT MOTHERS EATING INFECTED AND UNDER COOKED PORK.

      http://ajitvadakayil.blogspot.in/2012/09/of-pork-and-pigs-capt-ajit-vadakayil.html

IN INDIA NANO CARBON FROM CNG VEHICLES BREATHED BY PREGNANT WOMEN , ARE CAUSING CEREBRAL PALSY.

Rh incompatibility between mother and infant. In this blood condition, the mother's body produces antibodies that destroy the fetus's blood cells. This, in turn, leads to a form of jaundice in the newborn and may cause brain damage.

Mothers who had bleeding or severe proteinuria (excess protein in the urine) late in their pregnancy have a higher chance of having a baby with CP, as do mothers who have hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism, mental retardation, or seizures.

The three types of CP are:

spastic cerebral palsy — causes stiffness and movement difficulties
athetoid cerebral palsy — leads to involuntary and uncontrolled movements
ataxic cerebral palsy — causes a problem with balance and depth perception

Premature babies — particularly those who weigh less than 1.5 KILOS — have a higher chance of having CP

The brain damage that causes CP also can affect other brain functions and lead to additional medical issues, such as:--
      visual impairment or blindness
      hearing loss
food aspiration (the sucking of food or fluid into the lungs)
      gastroesophageal reflux (spitting up)
      speech problems
      drooling
      tooth decay
      sleep disorders
      osteoporosis (weak, brittle bones)
      behavior problems

As soon as CP is diagnosed, a child can begin therapy for movement, and other areas that need help, such as learning, speech, hearing, and social and emotional development.

In addition, medicine, surgery, or braces can help improve muscle function. Orthopedic surgery can help repair dislocated hips and scoliosis (curvature of the spine), which are common problems associated with CP.

Kids can improve their bone health by eating diets high in calcium, vitamin D, and phosphorus. These nutrients help keep bones strong.

  56. Respected Sir,
    Charan Sparsh.
i find myself short of words to be able to thank you enough for the knowledge you are spreading.
Sir, i wanted to ask this question regarding swami ramdev for long. I have utmost respect for swami ramdev for the service he has done to humanity by spreading the knowledge of yoga and ayurveda. But i get confused when i see him teaching some things that are totally wrong as per the knowledge you have given us:
1.he has been clearly and repeatedly recommending bhastrika deep breathing with chest breathing, saying that there is no organ in stomach to absorb oxygen, totally opposite to what you have taught us.
    2. focusing highly on kapabhati pranayam, calling it a ram-baan or panacea for all diseases, recommending kapalbhati for upto 1 Hour daily for diseases like cancer, when we all know kapalbhati is not even a pranayam, and its a kriya for clearing nasal pathways. As you have repeated many times, kapabhati is a form of hyperventilation , which is banned in yogic sutras.
    3. Never ever recommending grounding before doing yogasan. everyone in the classes including himself do the yogic asanas/postures on mat, not on grass , which should have been recommended as repeated in your blogs.
    4. He has never taught mmmmmm.. with exhalation in anulom vilom, neither does he ever teaches the kumbhak part of anulom vilom.
    5. In his pranayam book, he has given a method of kundalini jagran with daily 1/2 hr kapabhati(hyperventilation) and 1/2 hr anulom-vilom (as per his technique, without mmmm and kumbhak) alongwith some other pranayams. please comment on this technique sir.

With all the yogic and ayurvedic scriptures he claims to have read and various experiments he (& his team) has conducted, if he could understand them properly, it would have been impossible for him to recommend/teach as above. whats the point of misguiding so many millions of people?

SO HUM HAS BEEN MURDERED BY TRIPLE ENYME SRI, BY PROMOTING BRAIN DAMAGING HYPERVENTILATION .

DEEP DIAGHPRAMATIC BREATHING IS REQUIRED BY YOGA – this breathing triggers the lymph, your body’s sewage system which will give your cells more efficiency

Humming or the sound MMMMMM boosts level of nitric oxide—this in turn ups the oxygen intake by 98%, the biggest secret . Ordinary breath is a mere 4%. When there is lack of oxygen in your blood , you living to a small percentage of your potential.

  68. Dear Sir,
You have explained pranayam technique like no other could have. Thank you so much for the priceless knowledge you have spread.
Some time back before I found your blog, i experimented with a special breathing technique being taught at advanced Yoga practice website (AYPsite.Org). This technique is spinal breathing pranayam where you move your consciousness up and down your spine imagining flow of prana in the Sushumna nadi, while breathing in and out. Detailed as below : http://yoga108.org/blog/posts/910-spinal-breathing
I had found the technique especially effective in slowing breathing and the halting all thoughts, resulting in deep meditation very quickly.
Could you please validate this technique sir, whether its genuine or i was mistaken?

NEXT TIME SRI SRI RAVISHANKAR GOES TO SOUTH AMERICA HE WILL BE THROWN INTO JAIL FOR MANSLAUGHTER CAUSED BY HIS SUDARSHAN KRIYA SO HUM , AS PER MY SOUTH AMERICAN OFFICERS . .........

VEDIC YOGA ALLOWS ONLY DEEP DIAPHRAGMATIC BREATHING . . . . . NEVER EVER HYPERVENTILATION…..

When we do deep diaphragmatic breathing, our stress levels will decrease because it allows more oxygen to flow through the body. ..………

Hyperventilation leads to an excessive elimination of carbon dioxide (CO2) whereas no significant additional amounts of oxygen can be stocked in the body…..

The blood also becomes abnormally alkaline as a result of the excessive elimination of carbon dioxide; this subsequent rise in blood pH is termed alkalosis. Alkalosis interferes with normal oxygen utilization by the brain………

In the body alkalosis generally induces vasodilatation (widening of the blood vessels) but in the brain alone it causes vasoconstriction (narrowing of the blood vessels)……

Because the brain cannot store reserves of oxygen and, unlike other organs, has an exceedingly low tolerance of oxygen deprivation, it is highly vulnerable if vasoconstriction is not reversed……..

Hypocapnia reduces the oxygen levels available to the brain due to the elevated affinity of oxygen to hemoglobin (Bohr effect) hence highly increasing the chances of blackout…..

Hypocapnia is a state of reduced carbon dioxide in the blood. ……

Hypocapnia usually results from deep or rapid breathing, known as hyperventilation like SUDARSHAN KRIYA , SO HUM ……Hyperventilation, or over-breathing, does not add oxygen to arterial blood…….

Hyperventilation does not only reduce the total cerebral blood flow, but also changes the distribution of blood flow within the brain. ….Blood flow to the frontal, occipital, and parieto-occipital cortex, as well as the hippocampus is reduced relative to other areas of the brain within seconds to minutes of commencing hyperventilation…..

Sri Sri Ravishankar does NOT have a technical brain . ….

He has PATENTED this Sudharshan Kriya ( SO HUM hyperventilation ) by trying to rehash Yogic pranayama exercises like Bhastrika and Kapalabhati…..

YOGA HAS SHUNNED HYPERVENTILATION , AND HAS USED BHASTRIKA PRANAYAMA ONLY TO SHIFT THE DOMINANT NOSTRIL ( IDA / PINGALA ) FOR A FEW SECONDS…….When alveolar ventilation is excessive, more carbon dioxide will be removed from the blood stream than the body can produce.

This causes the concentration of carbon dioxide in the blood stream to fall and produces a state known as hypocapnia. ……

Hallucinating effects have been used by FAKE gurus to make an as$ out of devotees…….. . .. .
